Clopidogrel (Plavix)

Plavix has been shown in multiple studies to be safer and more effective when pharmacogenomic testing is utilized. Poor metabolizers will not have enough active drug and are at higher risk for treatment failure. The study below adjusted patients who were poor metabolizers to ticagrelor or decreased the dose if they were fast metabolizers.
